ABOUT ME

My name is Morgan Land. I have been blessed to call the North Hall community my home for my entire life and am proud to be a Trojan!  There have been many individuals within the school system that have encouraged me to be the best student, athlete and person possible and for that, I am truly thankful.  I have learned that it is “ok” to be a scholar and an athlete; that hard work does contribute to success; and that the best leaders are those that can motivate others to find and nurture the hidden potential within themselves.  These are the traits that I strive for daily.

I have spent my high school career representing North Hall High School in academics, in the marching band, on the soccer field and in the community.  Academically, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school.  I have been a Gold Renaissance Card holder for 4 years and was recently awarded the AP Scholar designation after passing my 4th AP exam at the end of my junior year.  I have maintained my academic standing while playing club, school and indoor soccer, marching in the band, participating in multiple clubs and being actively involved with my church and youth group.  Many of these activities overlap which require me to manage my time and energy exceedingly well.

While participating in extra-curricular activities, I have had the privilege of being appointed to leadership positions.  I have been captain of my club soccer team for the past 3 years, and am currentky holding the same position on the high school team.  I am also serving as a member of the Leadership Team for the marching band.  Both my club and high school coaches have described me as the “coach on the field” because of my work ethic, drive and skills in communication and encouragement.  As a captain, I feel it is my responsibility to lead by example, i.e. be early; be respectful of your teammates, coaches and opponents; be prepared physically and mentally; and give 110% at all times.

I truly enjoy working with people from every background.  Being involved with the marching band, team sports, Good News at Noon, Partners Club and Hippa Therapy has given me the opportunity to meet and work with extraordinary people.  These people teach me life-lessons I could never learn if I stayed confined to my close-knit group of friends.  One of the greatest lessons I have learned from Hippa Therapy is that it is not about what you can’t do, but what you can!  Partners club has taught me that there is nothing more precious than the beauty of a smile and a pure heart.   When I volunteer at Good News at Noon, it never ceases to amaze me that I end up receiving the bigger blessing while serving those that have little to nothing.  These interactions continue to mold me each day.
